GoogleForGlendale.com is city's public plea to be chosen as a test site for Google's new high-speed Internet system.
"We see ourselves as a city that has all the right elements for Google to do this," said Edward Fraga, Glendale's information services director.
From key infrastructure with Southern California location and the entertainment industry's interest, Glendale officials say that the city meets key criteria to win the online competition.
Cities across the country are vying for the sought after Internet service. Topeka, Kan. even renamed the city, Google for the month of March.
The pilot program will test out Google's lightening fast Internet system that is 100 times faster than what we have today.
