Rip Torn pleads not guilty in bank break-in

LITCHFIELD, Conn. The intoxicated 79-year-old broke into the bank on the night of Jan. 29 with a loaded gun thinking it was his home in Connecticut, according to authorities.

His attorney says that the actor is making progress in alcohol rehabilitation and has moved from an inpatient to an outpatient program.

Torn received probation last year in a separate DUI case in Connecticut and also had alcohol-related arrests in New York in the past.

He is due back in court on April 27.
