They were joined by Congresswoman /*Linda Sanchez*/. She told the crowd she would introduce new legislation that would extend benefits to older gay and lesbian couples.
California Sen. /*Barbara Boxer*/ also spoke out.
"It's not fair that any couple in America is treated differently than any other couple. It's just simple as that. It's not fair," said Boxer.
Also, some seniors spoke about being denied federal benefits after the death of their /*same-sex*/ spouses, saying the situation has to change.
