Police were called to a home in the 800 block of South Sierra Vista Avenue about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. According to authorities, other family members were in the home and called to report a possible suicide.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's office identified the apparent gunman as Angel Berrios Jr. The victims were 23-year-old Natasha Katherine Cobian and her toddler son Angel Joseph Berrios. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police found a gun at the scene, and other family members in the home were also hurt. It is unknown how many were injured.
The coroner's office said autopsies are planned for Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
