LAPD: Cell phone store robbery caught on tape

LOS ANGELES On March 18 at around 3:25 p.m., an armed man robbed Lupita's Cell store near Central Avenue and 41st Street south of the downtown area. The suspect ran into the store, pointed a gun at an employee and jumped over the front counter.

He forced the employee to empty the cash register. The suspect than grabbed the money and took off. No shots were fired and the store clerk was not hurt.

He is described as an African American man and in his early 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds.
