"Mentally, this mountain requires a lot of patience. It can look like a beautiful day and you're not going up to the summit, so it's both physically and mentally challenging so greatly," Romero said from the base camp Monday morning.
This is the last mountain Romero is tackling as part of his quest to reach the tallest peaks on all seven continents.
Romero, his father and a team of experienced climbers hope to reach the summit by next month.
