It took more than 100 firefighters to battle a commercial fire in Van Nuys that destroyed six businesses early Thursday.Authorities said the fire began at about 12:30 a.m. and burned for more than two hours in the 6500 block of North Van Nuys Boulevard, causing at least part of the building to collapse.

It took 106 firefighters to knock down the blaze. No one was hurt, but there is a big cleanup job ahead for those businesses.

Witnesses say the tenants in that building included a pawn shop, a restaurant and a clothing store called Flame Fashions.

The fire damage is estimated to be $1,500,000. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
