The wining high school gets the president as the school's commencement speaker.
The public is being encouraged to help select the three finalists which will be announced Friday. Voting started Monday and runs through Thursday.
The president himself will pick the winner to be announced May 4.
Earlier this year, Obama challenged high school students to show how they're helping to meet the goal of the United States having the highest proportion of college graduates in the world by 2020.
