Abandoned truck shuts down major NYC bridge

NEW YORK

Police say witnesses had reported seeing a man run from the vehicle. They also reported that that there was a strong smell of gasoline in the area.

The truck was described as a U-Haul or Ryder truck. Investigators x-rayed the truck and cut a hole into the side. It was found empty. Traffic on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge resumed around midnight.

Investigators are now trying to find the man who abandoned the truck.
