2 identified in fatal Corvette crash

VAN NUYS, Calif. Jorge Nunez Jr., 28, of Sylmar, and Jossue D. Colato, 23, of Pacoima, died when the driver of a speeding Corvette they were riding in lost control of her vehicle on a curving street in Van Nuys, scattering body parts and debris along the road.

Investigators said the car was eastbound on Roscoe when it crashed into a guardrail, skidded across some railroad tracks and came to rest upside down.

The other two people who died in the crash were women believed to be in their early 20s. The driver was one of the women. Police have not said whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

According to police there was no indication the driver of the Corvette was racing any other vehicle. However, all four victims were packed in the two-seater car.
