Carjacking suspect shot by Long Beach police

LONG BEACH, Calif. Officers were responding to the armed carjacking at about 12:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Linden Avenue.

Police chased two men in the car until the suspects crashed into a retaining wall at West Anaheim and San Francisco Avenue.

One man was shot by officers after the crash. The second suspect was arrested. A Long Beach police spokesperson said a gun was recovered at the scene.

The names of the suspects have not been released.

No officers or civilians were injured in the incident. The shooting is under investigation.
