Student escapes kidnap attempt in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near Fairview Avenue and Bronson Way. The 18-year-old student was walking to an athletic event at Poly High School.

The girl said the men were in a light gray van, drove past and whistled at her. Moments later the driver then turned around and stopped next to her.

He grabbed the girl's arm and tried to pull her into the van, but she got away.

The victim told police the driver was a white man in his 50s with gray hair, mustache and goatee. He also had with a tattoo on the right side of his neck. The second suspect is a bald Hispanic man, between 20 and 30 years old.

Investigators said the van has a noticeable dent on its front left bumper.
