June 1, 2010 12:00:00 AM PDT
Investigators are searching for the driver of a white Isuzu Trooper in connection with a suspected arson-set brushfire that broke out Tuesday morning near Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Investigators say the fire was started by someone throwing flares or Roman candles out of the window. The fire was reported at 12:22 a.m. and Los Angeles County firefighters put it out 11 minutes later.

The fire burned about a quarter-acre of brush in Topanga State Park. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Firefighters determined the blaze was started by a possible arsonist.

A county fire official said two half-burned Roman-candle-type fireworks were found in the area. A driver told authorities somebody was driving in the Isuzu Trooper and tossed the fireworks.

Anyone with more information is asked to call deputies at the sheriff's Malibu-Lost Hills station at (818) 878-1808.
