June 7, 2010 12:00:00 AM PDT
Ten young female cancer patients, ages 14 to 19, who were unable to attend their high school proms due to their illness and/or treatment, were given free prom dresses at Children's Hospital of Orange County Monday.Hospital officials say selecting the perfect prom dress is often as special to a teen girl as attending the prom itself.

Finding just the right color and style of dress for that memorable night is part of this rite of passage for young girls; each one of them wanting to feel like the prom queen.

Monday the teenagers were given the unique opportunity to select their own dress courtesy of BCBGMAXAZRIA.

The designer label arranged a special dress fitting at the hospital for these young ladies that included a free dress and fashion advice from their stylists.

The CHOC Oncology Prom is set for June 19.
