By 6:30 p.m., the fire had burned about three acres and was moving uphill.
Homes appeared to be threatened, and there was a possibility evacuations would be ordered.
By 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters had extinguished the blaze.
The L.A. County Fire Dept. reported about 15 homes were evacuated.
No damages were reported.
