A new study suggests taking antioxidant vitamins may not lower the risk of preeclampsia in pregnant women with type 1 diabetes./*Preeclampsia*/ is a sudden increase in the mother's blood pressure after the 20th week of pregnancy.

Researchers in Ireland gave pregnant diabetics /*vitamin C* and E supplements.

The vitamins did not make a significant difference in lowering the preeclampsia risk.

Still, doctors say preeclampsia can have many causes so any single intervention is unlikely to be effective.
