'Football Bandit' bank robber strikes again

VENTURA, Calif. According to Ventura Police, the suspect is between 18 and 20 years old. He walked into the US bank on the 4000 block of East Main Street at 9:55 a.m. and displayed a demand note. The suspect told the clerk he would shoot her if she did not comply with the note.

The teller gave the young man an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect left on foot. The clerk did not see a gun.

The suspect is also believed to be involved in a bank robbery May 17, at the First Bank and Trust on Telephone Rd.

He has been dubbed the "Football Bandit" because of the soccer sweatshirts he wears during the robberies.
