Driver dies after Hollywood shooting, crash

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.

Authorities said 20-year-old David Suarez of Hollywood crashed his car into a light pole at Santa Monica Boulevard and St. Andrews Place after someone shot him just before 3 p.m. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police believe the shooting was gang related.

Two LAPD officers crashed their patrol car while responding to the shooting. They were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries and have been released.

No one has been arrested. Anyone with information is urged to call police at (877) LAPD-24-7.
