Discounted fares for seniors, students and the disabled have not increased, nor have the fares on the Metro Silver Line.
Fare hikes for Metrolink riders also go into effect on Thursday. Last week, Metrolink approved a 6 percent rise in fares, which comes out to about 33 cents more per trip.
There will be service cuts to four trains: two on the San Bernardino line and two on the Ventura County line.
