Ventura police are searching for the suspects responsible for assaulting three people near the Ventura Pier early Thursday morning. The attack on the two men and one woman occurred in the 600 block of Harbor Boulevard about 2:45 a.m.Investigators say all three victims, who had been drinking, were walking west of the pier near a playground when they came across a group of at least five men and two women. The suspects were identified to be between 18 to 20 years old.

According to a police report, the suspects were initially friendly, then two of the men and one of the young women lured one of the male victims away from the group. One of the suspects began choking the victim while the others punched him in the face and body and took his wallet. A second victim was also assaulted and robbed. A female suspect then began attacking the female victim before all the suspects fled the scene.

The two male victims suffered moderate injuries but declined treatment, police said. The female victim had minor injuries.

Anyone with information about the attack can call Ventura Police at (805) 339-4416 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at (800) 222-TIPS.
