Investigators said the flames caused at least $5,000 in damage. They believe someone put gas on a tree in the playground and lit it on fire.

ANAHEIM, Calif. Authorities responded to /*Maxwell Elementary School*/ on West Orange Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. after they saw smoke near the school. Officers arrived to find the playground on fire.
