Police found the device attached to a police vehicle at approximately 11:40 a.m. Hemet police said the device could have been attached to the vehicle at any time in the past 60 days.
Authorities evacuated city workers at the vehicle yard location. The area was sealed and the Riverside County Hazardous Device Team responded and rendered or determined (it was not immediately clear) the device to be safe.
Hemet police investigators said the suspects in the ongoing attacks have already been taken into custody. They speculate the device was simply not found until Tuesday.
