Boyle Heights couple stabbed; son detained

BOYLE HEIGHTS, Calif. The stabbings occurred around 3 a.m. near Forest Avenue and Winter Street, according to police.

Authorities found the injured couple on the 800 block of Burnet Avenue and radioed a description of their son as the suspect, saying that he was probably covered with blood.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., police located 18-year-old Abel Mosqueda and detained him.

Authorities said the victims' injuries are not life-threatening and that they're expected to survive.
