However, the two men later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault for the brutal beating of Felipe Alvarado in the parking lot of an In-N-Out restaurant in /*Garden Grove*/.
The California attorney general's office filed a civil case under the Ralph Civil Rights Act, which allows violent crime victims to pursue civil penalties.
The judgment orders the two attackers to each pay $25,000 to Alvarado.
