The 24-year-old actress was locked up at the Century Regional Detention Facility July 20.
She will serve only a small fraction of her 90-day jail sentence for violating the terms of her probation on a pair of /*dui*/ cases.
Sheriff's officials maintain that Lohan is not getting any special treatment.
"The only difference here are you folks, the media. When people come and go to visit her, they are immediately surrounded. We have deputies that help them get in their cars and stuff like that," described /*Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department*/ Spokesman Steve Whitmore.
The sheriff's department says it will set up extra security when Lohan is released from jail.
