1 dead, 3 wounded in Watts street shooting

WATTS, Calif. Investigators said the victims were standing on the street in the 9500 block of Holmes Avenue near 97th Street just after 10 p.m. when a green Honda or Nissan stopped and two men got out. One of the men opened fire with a rifle and the suspects then fled in the vehicle.

The victims, three men and a 25-year-old woman, were taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Ronald Reeves, 42, died from his injuries, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

The three other victims remained hospitalized in unknown condition.

Police said they don't have a motive for the shooting and no arrests were made. It is unknown if it was gang related.
