Ono opposes parole for Lennon's killer

LOS ANGELES Ono contends that Mark David Chapman remains a potential threat to her, other family members and possibly even himself.

Chapman gunned down Lennon outside his New York City apartment in December of 1980.

Chapman, who is serving a life term at Attica State Prison in New York, is up for parole this month.

At his last hearing, Chapman declared that he was ashamed for killing the former Beatle and was a changed man.
