L.A. may break up 'sex offenders clusters'

August 9, 2010 12:44:32 AM PDT
New restrictions could soon be in place for registered sex offenders living in Los Angeles. Council members plan to introduce an ordinance on Monday that would evenly disperse offenders who are out on parole. Officials are hoping to break up what they call "sex offender clusters" by limiting the number of parolees in a residential setting, creating exclusion zones and punishing property owners who violate these rules.

Several other cities have enacted similar ordinances, including El Monte, Long Beach and Palmdale.
