Long Beach officer arrested for weapons theft

LONG BEACH, Calif. The officer is identified as Damian Ramos who has been with the department for five years.

Investigators said a business turned over numerous weapons to Ramos in his capacity as a police officer, but the department discovered that not all of the weapons had been placed into evidence.

Detectives said they have recovered evidence linking Ramos to the missing weapons, but did not elaborate.

Ramos has been booked for grand theft of firearms and is being held on $1 million bail.

He is currently being held at the /* Los Angeles County Men's Central Jail*/.
