A new restaurant on Abbot Kinney has proposed several lifts to satisfy its parking requirements.
The lifts are legal, but some people are concerned that the city doesn't have any safety restrictions, like training for lift operators.
Next week, the council will consider a 1-year moratorium on any new lifts, so that better safety restrictions can be drawn up.
