L.A.-area attorney busted in child sex sting

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. Eduardo Leaton, 39, was arrested after allegedly exchanging sexually explicit emails with an undercover police detective posing as a 16-year-old minor from Georgia. Leaton was corresponding with the minor for three years.

Investigators said during the exchange of emails, Leaton arranged a meeting for the purpose of having sex. When Leaton arrived at the meeting location he was taken into custody without incident.

Immediately after the arrest, detectives armed with a search warrant, searched Leaton's /*North Hollywood*/ home were they collected numerous items as evidence.

The investigation was handled by the /*Los Angeles Police Department*/, with help from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Child Exploitation Group.

Investigators said the computer evidence indicated Leaton had internet conversations with hundreds of "friends" who were believed to be underage females.
