1st annual 'Floatzilla' tries to break record

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois The boating event was called "Floatzilla." Participants in boats and kayaks linked hands and paddles for 30 seconds in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest canoe and kayak raft.

Organizers say about 1,200 boats took part. The Guinness World Record was set in 2008 in New York with 1,104 boats.

No word yet if the group in Illinois actually broke that record.
