Suspect captured in S.L.A. sexual assault

LOS ANGELES On Friday at 8:30 a.m. a woman was assaulted while checking her mailbox outside her home. The suspect forced her into her home and hit her several times with a hard object before sexually assaulting her.

The Los Angeles Police Department worked with the Long Beach Police Department to find the man after a tip came in that led the police search to Long Beach.

Officers from the Southeast Gang division saw a man matching the suspect description walking out of an apartment complex on Paramount Boulevard in Long Beach and detained him without incident.

Robbery-Homicide Division thanked those involved for their assistance in helping to capture the suspect.
