Orange County Fairgrounds back up for sale

COSTA MESA, Calif. The State Department of General Services re-listed the property Tuesday, one week away from a deadline for legislation needed to make the purchase possible. A tentative agreement was struck in June to sell the fairgrounds to Costa Mesa, where the property is located. The city planned to hire a real estate firm to run the fair and other events. However, new legislation involving that third-party involvement has not been written.

Costa Mesa city manager Allan Roeder says the city will continue to work with the state on the sale if the City Council approves the plan.
