Military personnel honored on Anaheim banners

ANAHEIM, Calif. On Tuesday, city leaders unveiled ten new banners honoring nine servicemen and women who're currently serving in the armed forces, along with one fallen soldier.

Army Staff Sergeant Marc Arizmendez lost his life on July 6 in Afghanistan.

Family members of the honorees attended the ceremony.

The 10 military members join 21 others who were honored previously. The program was created in Fall of 2009 as a way for the city to recognize those who're serving their country.

The banners will hang from street light poles throughout the city. They were funded entirely through private donations.
