Youth football coaches arrested for fighting

VENTURA, Calif. A youth football scrimmage was in progress when two players continued to block each other after the whistle was blown and the play was over.

Witnesses the Camarillo team's coach, 47-year-old Stephan Bennett, interceded in order to separate the players. He allegedly bear-hugged a player from the Ventura team.

Matthew Rosene, 42, of Ventura, saw his player held by Bennett and joined the fray, grabbing Bennet.

The coaches and the player fell to the ground. Bennett allegedly punched Rosene in the face.

Rosene was treated at the scene.

According to police, Bennett was arrested and cited for battery at the scene, then released.

Rosene was arrested and cited for fighting and then released.
