It might be a good weekend to catch up on any summer films that slipped by you. There are some independent films I've liked, including "Get Low" and "Mao's Last Dancer." Two of the new movies this weekend are brand new and one is a re-release. Director James Cameron's eye-popping sci-fi action epic "Avatar" has already staked its claim as the all time box office champ.

It returns to the big screen this weekend with nine minutes of never-before-seen footage that was originally cut for time.

One of "Avatar's" stars is also featured in the new action-filled thriller, "Takers."

You'll see Zoe Saldana as part of the ensemble cast in the fast-moving film. She's associated with the "Takers," a notorious group of stylish robbers.

Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Tip "T.I." Harris, Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Michael Ealy are part of that team.

They're being pursued by a couple of devoted cops played by Matt Dillon and Jay Hernandez. The thieves plan for one last high-stakes heist, but find the police hot on their tales.

"Takers" is rated PG-13 for violence, action, partial nudity and language.

In "The Last Exorcism," a disillusioned minister agrees to take part in one more exorcism. But his faith is truly tested by the evil he encounters in Louisiana.

"The Last Exorcism" is rated PG-13 for violent content, terror, sexual references and mature themes.

And that's what's new at the movies this weekend.
