Detectives interviewed Forsberg, then arrested him, according to Orange County Sheriff's Spokesman Jim Amormino.
Forsberg was considered a person of interest in the case of his wife's disappearance from their Rancho Santa Margarita home.
Forsberg was arrested on one count of murder in connection with the death of his wife, Marcia Forsberg, whose body has not been found.
Richard Forsberg was being held at the Orange County Jail in Santa Ana Monday night.
