Downtown steel sculpture celebrates education

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES Crews Tuesday unloaded and began erecting the components of a steel sculpture that will grace the new south campus of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College.

The sculpture is modeled after the winged horse Pegasus and entitled, "Education Gives You Wings to Fly."

It's the work of a young sculptor, Hacer, who's a recent graduate of Trade-Tech and wanted to thank the school for developing his abilities as a welder and an artist.
