Body found in Irwindale storage; Son arrested

September 4, 2010 12:00:00 AM PDT
A man was found dead inside of a storage unit in Irwindale on Friday. The man's son has been arrested on suspicion of killing him. The body of Miguel Pedraza, 62, was found at A1 Mini Storage at 4391 Irwindale Ave.

Investigators said his 24-year-old son, Jonathan Pedraza, tried to break out of the secured property by driving his car through the fence because he didn't have a security code to get out of the storage facility.

When employees refused to open the gate, he drove through it.

A short time later, the same vehicle was involved in a traffic crash in Baldwin Park.

Further investigation led police back to the storage facility, where they found Pedraza.

Authorities are investigating a possible motive.
