NYC pays tribute to victims of 9/11 attacks

In New York City, two blue lights darted into the sky on Tuesday night as a tribute to the more than 2,000 people who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center.As the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches, the city is preparing for a memorial ceremony at the former site of the World Trade Center.

The ceremony will be attended by Vice President Joe Biden.

The anniversary comes as workers continue construct a special memorial at the site.

On Tuesday, two 70-foot high steel columns, known as the trident, were installed in what will be the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
