Lopez pleaded no contest to a felony count of hit and run with injury and a misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter.
The defendant has been dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corp., according the defense attorney.

LOS ANGELES Last January, while driving on the 10 Freeway, Juan Carlos Acosta Lopez, 21, reportedly hit a truck in front of him causing it to lose control and overturn. A passenger riding with Lopez was killed and the driver of the truck was seriously injured in the accident.
