LB man arrested in shooting of pregnant woman

LONG BEACH, Calif. According to /*Long Beach*/ police, they received reports of shots fired around 1 a.m. from the 1100 block of Norman Court.

When officers arrived on scene, they found that a woman had been shot in an alley on Orange and Anaheim streets. Authorities say she may have been pregnant.

She was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries to her upper torso.

After the shooting, the suspect ran into a nearby home where residents were having a party. The occupants were forced out of the home while authorities searched for the suspected gunman.

According to police, a few people inside the home initially refused to cooperate with authorities.

"We had a large number of people inside that part. They shut the gate and didn't want to come out, so we got a search warrant and SWAT showed up and they changed their minds," said /*Long Beach Police Department*/ Lt. Chris Morgan.

Some neighbors in the area were also evacuated from their homes while police searched for the suspect but were let back into their homes shortly after officers positively identified the shooter and arrested him.

The identities of those involved were not immediately released by police.
