2 arrested in attempted robbery; 1 at large

VENTURA, Calif. Ventura police responded a call about an auto burglary in progress in the area of Citrus Drive and Pajaro Avenue.

A man and a woman confronted three suspects allegedly breaking into their cars.

The boy, whose name is being withheld because of his age, pulled out a wrench and demanded the victim's money. Police said he also threatened her if she called the police.

The suspects fled on foot leaving their car behind, but the woman, Oxnard resident Katherine Comer, 20, was arrested by officers a short distance away.

A witness called in and reported seeing the teen jumping into a car that fled southbound on Wells Road.

Police pulled the car over and arrested him.

Comer was booked at the /*Ventura County Jail*/ for burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The boy was booked at /*Ventura County Juvenile Hall*/ for attempted robbery, burglary, witness intimidation and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The third suspect remains at large.
