Investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department were at the scene Tuesday searching for the cause of the baby's death.
Deputies removed several bags of evidence and an infant carrier.
It was not known if investigators suspected foul play.
Investigators said they're conducting the investigation because of the child's age and the unknown circumstances surrounding its death.
