Cool Kid climbs to raise money for charity

LOS ANGELES "You can see the mountain, I mean, it's just this giant thing hovering above the clouds. And all you see is the snowy peaks and everything. And you see the fields of grain and sunflowers and you realize, oh my gosh, it's so tall," said Kontomitras.

With his accomplishment, Kontomitras was able to raise $26,000 for the charity Vision for the Poor.

"It's a charity that helps the eye clinics in countries where they can't afford or don't have access to the eye clinics," said Kontomitras.

He saw a chance to combine his love of adventure with an urge to aid children in need.

"When you climb a mountain and you help all these kids with such an amazing thing that gives them eyesight, and really helps them live a life. It's absolutely a great thing," said Kontomitras.

Climbing mountains, scuba diving, and helping children around the world: Kontomitras is driven by an attitude that applies to all he does.

"You can do anything if you put your mind to it. You train for it, you prepare for it. You can do anything, ever," said Kontomitras.
