When deputies arrived, David Morales, 31, was attempting to flee the vicinity. Deputies were able to detain Morales. Deputies reportedly had to struggle with the suspect.
Maricruz Morales, 20, the suspect's sister, was treated for injuries at the scene by Fillmore City Fire Dept. personnel. She was transported to /*Ventura County Medical Center*/ where she was pronounced dead.
According to the Sheriff's department, a family dispute led to the suspect's assault on the victim.
David Morales was charged with murder.
