Welch, who is also a best-selling author, was given the Icon Award. She said she was thrilled to be honored.
"It's always very satisfying to be acknowledged for your work in the film industry," said Welch.
Actor Eric Roberts and musician Kenny Loggins were also honored with Career Achievement Awards.
