LA JOLLA, Calif. --
Ventura Deep Six swimmers were greeted with cheers as they finished their record-shattering 202-mile relay in La Jolla on Monday. The team's journey began Thursday in Ventura harbor. They swam north to Santa Barbara, where Friday night they broke the existing 78-mile record.
The team then headed south toward La Jolla, totaling 202 miles.
To complete the feat, team members had to swim around the clock in one hour shifts.
