Man sentenced for torching employer's boat

FULLERTON , Calif. Jose Asencion Castro, 38, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 270 days in jail and three years of probation.

Castro worked at an electronic store for 14 years. Then, investigators say, in January, Castro got upset his boss did not hire someone he recommended for a job so he slashed his tires.

That move got Castro fired.

Prosecutors say in retaliation, Castro poured gasoline on and set fire to his former employer's boat in March which was parked in the driveway of the victim's house.

A video surveillance camera captured Castro approaching and leaving the scene.
